Carmarthenshire Youth and Children's Association Online - The organisation was founded in 1981 as Llanelli Youth & Children's Association to provide out of school activities to children and young people aged 2 - 18 in numerous venues throughout the Llanelli area. The Family Dyslexia Centre in St Clears

The Family Dyslexia Centre is committed to providing free screening assessments and tuition for children and adults whom have not been given adequate help from their local authority, and to provide clear and concise information for children and adults with specific learning difficulties.

PARIS (Public Autism Resource & Information Service) is a new online service provided by The National Autistic Society (NAS). It draws from a UK-wide database of diagnostic services, schools, support groups, training courses, residential and day services and much more. PARIS is designed to help people with autism (including those with Asperger Syndrome), their families and the people who work with them professionally to find out more about the services available to them. Through simple searches and browsing, users can find their nearest school, adult centre, respite service, play scheme or other type of local or national service. PARIS harnesses 40 years experience and expertise of the NAS.

St Mary's in Burry Port built by the Elkington Family in the 19th Century is undergoing important restoration works as well as being developed into a church for the 21st Century to improve disability access and provide a community and hospitality space with modern facilities.
Funding is being sought to carry out these works of which one third has been recieved allowing emergency remedial and restoration to proceed immediately.
The renowned American Aviator Amelia Earhart arrived by seaplane in July 1928 , as a passenger,in Burry Port and this event is honoured in the Town. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second unveiling a memorial plaque in 2003 to mark the 75th anniversary of the event.
